Spatial Occupation
(2007) installation
"In an effort to explore sensory production (both audible and visual) in relation to spatial occupation, the Blueroom, over the period of one night, becomes an opportunity to explore different ways of measuring this temporal accumulation and dispersal of people. Our previous collaboration included a video of the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere where both the audible and visual components of the video recording were reassembled to create an alternative evaluation, highlighting densities of movement. The Blueroom intervention would be the next logical step in this investigation to create ways to measure densities of movement and occupation of people in real time and in a creative way. Our project will feature a morphological narrative based on a real-time analysis of the changes in spatial occupation of the Blueroom spaces over the course of the hours of the evening-long event. We are also interested in investigating ways in which the relationship of different events in different rooms could gradually change over the evening. We would like propose a multi-room intervention."
